What is Green Hydrogen, or renewable hydrogen? We share with you all the information about the energy of the future.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Before we begin, the first step is to know that hydrogen is the most abundant chemical element in nature<\/strong>, the ‘partner’ that contributes two atoms to oxygen to create water (H2O). An element that burns, gives off energy and can be converted into a fuel capable of moving cars, heating houses or powering factories.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is the perfect substitute for oil or natural gas derivatives,<\/strong> since it can take their place without polluting the planet. The problem, as Alberto Sanz rightly commented in his article, “‘Green hydrogen’, the ingredient in every energy transition sauce”<\/em><\/a>, is that, despite being the most abundant element on Earth, hydrogen is not easy to obtain<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]

Hydrogen can be converted into a fuel capable of moving cars, heating houses or powering factories.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>[vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Because, to be combustible, it needs to be by itself, and in nature it is always found with other elements, such as coal, natural gas or water<\/strong>. In other words, to obtain hydrogen, it needs to be extracted from these natural resources. And the difference between conventional hydrogen and this desired ‘green hydrogen’ lies in its extraction.<\/strong> But then, what is green hydrogen?[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″]

Green hydrogen: beyond electricity.<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources<\/strong> is called green hydrogen. This accumulated green hydrogen is expected to be introduced into many energy sectors.<\/p>\n

That is why green hydrogen generation has become an alternative to reduce emissions<\/strong> and ultimately take care of our planet.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Through the most ambitious energy transformation, the IEA has determined that 25 % of the final energy demand in 2050 will come<\/strong> from hydrogen-related transformations<\/strong>. This is particularly important in the TRANSPORT SECTOR<\/strong> .[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Financial aids for electric mobility<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]In our previous post,\u00a0Financial Aids for Electric Mobility<\/em>,<\/strong><\/a> we already mentioned the financial aids<\/strong> announced by the Government for the automotive industry,<\/strong> a total of 3.75 billion euros to support clean and electric mobility. But how does a hydrogen fuel cell work?<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1947″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Through the use of fuel cells<\/strong> (road freight transport, fork lifts, stationary cells, etc.), hydrogen is converted back into electricity<\/strong> but it is also present in the production of advanced biofuels<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Green hydrogen has already started to be used in the industrial sector<\/strong> to produce, for example, green ammonia or green methanol, and in the heat sector,<\/strong> where it is being introduced into the natural gas grid as hydrogen or by means of methanation with CO2<\/sub>. capture.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
